Charlie was a professional baseball player. But, he could not play baseball anymore on account of injuries. After that, he became perverse and disagreeable. He abandoned himself to despair and was inflicted to alcoholism. His wife and daughter then left him. When he found that he wasn’t invited to his daughter’s wedding. He fell apart. He decided to commit a suicide.
He met his mother again in a mysterious condition. He came to his hometown and spent a whole day with his mother. This day was normal. But, this day was different, too. Because that his mother revealed the secret.
Why his father left them when he was a little child? This question had remained a scar in his mind for several years. He was blank. The answer appeared and covered the sky like clouds. In some place between this life and next life, He understood his mother again and found out what his mother had sacrificed for him.
Charlie tried hard to remember the tender from his mother on that day and repaired his life which he thought was broken to pieces. Charlie revived again.

I enjoy this journal very much because it was beautifully written. Even though that I've never read the book, from your preview, I get the message that this stroy tries to convey, and I think that it is simple, yet easily forgotten by people.
After I have become a college student, the only chance I will be at home is on weekends. But not every weekend I can go home due to some activities I anticipate. Therefore, reading your journal really makes me miss my family in Taipei. When I am alone in Hsin-Chu, I cherish the time when I am home. Home is the most comfortable place.
